Quite simply, one of the best Australian books I’ve ever read. Poetic, stifling, tragic. Beauty and ruin, wrapped in the drowning heat of colonisation.
It was somber to consume this in post-Voice-vote Australia, knowing that the rainshadow persists.
Where the daily injustices are interwoven with our historic failure, and the drowning heat lingers.
